Emerson, Lake & Palmer were progressive rock’s first supergroup. Greeted by the rock press and the public as something akin to conquering heroes, they succeeded in broadening the audience for progressive rock from hundreds of thousands into tens of millions of listeners, creating a major radio phenomenon as well. Limited Japanese-only triple SACD Hybrid disc in paper sleeve including seven bonus tracks. The unreleased tracks, which had been sealed for 44 years, included in this set, and are finally listed in the original order. These seven are: “Japan,” “Bamble,” “Ummu Uum,” “Sacred Light,” “The Creator Has A Master,” “Saver,” and “Conga Solo” (about 35 minutes total). One of the rock masterpieces from Santana, Lotus, becomes a Japan exclusive SACD hybrid multi-channel edition (4ch mix). It uses two-layered SACD with DSD 11.2MHz mastering. During the 1970s, solo piano box sets were rare. When Keith Jarrett’s monolithic, ten-LP solo box, Sun Bear Concerts, arrived from ECM in 1978, the only comparable collection was The Tatum Solo Masterpieces, a six-disc set of the pianist’s ’50s sides. Jarrett’s five Japanese concerts from November of 1976 in Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Sapporo were completely improvised and gloriously recorded by engineer Okihiro Sugano.
